|POK continues its deployment in the MWIP|
POK® has been present in household waste incineration units for several years now, helping to fight fires in waste pits. Several MWIPs have already trusted POK: Fos-sur-Mer (13), Caudan 1 (56), Caudan 2 (56), Villefranche-sur-Saône (69), Perpignan (66) and more recently Montpellier (34) or Ludres (54) and others to come in Échillais (17).
The concept offered by POK includes the supply of two water or water/foam (stainless steel) branchpipes for each of the pits, with diffuser, fully motorised. These branchpipes are controlled using a control desk installed in the operator’s control room allowing manual control of each of the branchpipes or automatic control of the latter in the event of detection of a fire. Even if the control is done on sight, a graphic display of 4,3″ makes it possible to indicate the position in real time of the ordered branchpipe.
The POK solution, called TECHNO V2, offers unrivalled performance that allows the unit to be protected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week even in the event of staff unavailability, in accordance with INRS (Institut National de Recherche et de Sécurité) recommendations. The main functions provided by the TECHNO V2 system are as varied as the manual control of the branchpipes by the operator, the automatic scanning on site and azimuth in case of detection of a fire, the control of water valves and/or emulsifier.
In addition, a backup battery, installed in each control cabinet, allows automatic scanning of the branchpipe for more than 4 hours even in the event of complete shutdown of the MWIP power supply system; of course, management and control of the battery charge level is ensured by the system. The originality of the system rests on the technological choice of POK (CANOpen Network) which makes it possible to link together all the MWIP branchpipe and a centralized control at the operator level.
Also, an automatic scan, fully customizable by the user, can reach all areas in the pit. TECHNO V2, the solution.
