|Take on Indonesia|
According to Wikipedia, the royal cobra is the longest poisonous snake in the world; its length varies on average between 3 and 5 meters. When threatened, he adopts a characteristic intimidating posture by standing up to a third of his body length (between 1 and 1.8m above the ground), thus facing his opponent.
POK® innovates and develops a new fire fighting system for fire fighting intervention trucks, the Cobra V2, for an Indonesian truck manufacturer. The COBRA V2 system combines POK’s know-how in branchpipe control and command with our customers’ numerous requests. POK listens to its customers, integrates their needs and develops its standards by focusing on the latest technological developments.
Using an industrial joystick (reminiscent of the cobra head), COBRA V2 controls all movements of the monitor lance on the vehicle roof or bumper (site, azimuth and diffuser). In addition, it is possible to order one or more valves (open/close).
Equipped with an ergonomic box, perfectly integrated in the truck cab, the Cobra V2 control system has a 4.3s’intégrant TFT colour screen allowing the exact position of the controlled monitor and the status of the valves to be displayed in real time. The ergonomic position of the screen (inclination) also allows a better reading when operating the lance.
Thanks to an obstacle avoidance system that can be fully configured by the user, the Cobra V2 makes it possible to reach the attack position according to a chosen route; the same applies to the storage position. To complete this function, an automatic system is used to adjust the monitor’s travel when obstacles are encountered.
COBRA V2 is built around a CANOpen architecture giving it the possibility to extend the configuration to several lances.
