|POK fights waste|
Street pooling: this practice consists of opening a fire hydrant to create a geyser of refreshing water in the street.
This act reprimanded by French law can have multiple consequences for the environment and safety (risk of electrocution with overhead lines, traffic accident, but especially lack of water and flow/pressure in case of fire).
This practice, which costs the equivalent in water of sixty Olympic swimming pools, has retained all the attention of the company POK® in order to find a solution allowing the Fire Brigade to intervene safely: the female Keyser safety cap with a triangle of 14 mm.
When the screw with this triangle is in the closed position, no commercial tool can open it, the male triangle disappearing completely in the 22 mm bore. Furthermore, in the closed position, the plug cannot be released by shocks due to the presence of a flange inserted into the DN100 male Keyser fitting during closing.
The whole is constructed in a sufficiently robust way to resist the bad treatments that could imagine the breakers. On request, the stop pooling cap can be drilled to allow one or more low flow water jets to pass through, which can be used for various purposes.
With this new product, once again, POK adapts to the evolution of our company’s practices and responds as quickly as possible to the expectations of firefighters and local authorities.
